THE 2007 GLITTER AWARDS
BEST DOCUMENTARY
The award is voted on by the gay press as well as foreign and domestic gay & lesbian film festivals. This award is for outstanding achievement of work which narrates true gay life events in an original, controversial manner.
INDIE FILM AWARD
The award is given to a U.S. independent gay themed motion picture. This award is for a filmmaker, who with scarce resources, or a limited budget, has been able to bring his/her vision to the screen.
GAY PRESS AWARD
The award is voted on by entertainment editors, film critics, or writers of a gay publication.
BEST LESBIAN FEATURE
The award is given to a gay themed motion picture which reveals woman’s issues including, but not limited to sexuality, intimacy, relationships, their struggles, hopes and experiences in a creative and original manner.
BEST FOREIGN FILM AWARD
The award is given to a gay themed motion picture created and produced in a non-U.S. territory.
FOREIGN G & L FILM FESTIVAL AWARD
Voted on exclusively by the participating gay & lesbian film festivals.
BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
The award is given to a male thespian for outstanding performance in a starring role.
Voted on by the newly formed Screen Actors Guild LGBT Committee.
BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
The award is given to a male thespian for outstanding performance in a laterally enduring and/or memorable role from the starring role. Selected and voted on by the newly formed Screen Actors Guild LGBT Committee.
BEST ACTRESS
The award is given to a female thespian for outstanding performance in a starring role. Selected and voted by the newly formed Screen Actors Guild LGBT Committee.
BEST ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
The awards is given to a female thespian for outstanding performance in a laterally enduring and/or memorable role. Selected and voted by the newly formed Screen Actors Guild LGBT Committee.
BEST PICTURE
The most coveted award is voted by participating programmers, festival directors of both foreign and domestic gay and lesbian film festivals as well as entertainment editors/critics of gay press publications.
